Quotes
Quotes are free, given in writing, and valid for 30 days. A quote is a fixed price for the work described in it. Anything not described in it is not included.
Variations
If we find something on site that changes the job, we stop and tell you before continuing. You decide whether to proceed. Additional work is agreed in writing, including by text or WhatsApp, before it is carried out.
Access
We need safe access to the property and to the areas being worked on. Where a tenant is in occupation, arranging access is the landlord's responsibility unless we have agreed to do it directly. A wasted visit through no fault of ours may be charged.
Payment
Work is priced either as a fixed price or on a day rate, whichever suits the job, and which it is will be agreed with you before we start. Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Larger jobs may be staged, with the stages set out in the quote.
Certification and notification
Work is designed, installed, inspected and tested to BS 7671 (18th Edition, Amendment 2) and certified accordingly. Notifiable work is registered with your local building control under the NICEIC Competent Persons scheme, and the certificate is emailed on the day we finish.
Guarantee
Our work is covered by a workmanship guarantee. If you are not happy with something we have done, we come back and put it right. Manufacturer warranties on fittings and consumer units are passed to you in full, for whatever period the manufacturer offers. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by others, misuse, or faults in existing installations we did not carry out.
Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises, you have the legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to begin work inside that period and then cancel, we may charge for what has already been done.
Complaints
Tell us first, on 07700 900418 or at hello@larkfieldelectrical.co.uk. If we cannot resolve it, our certification body operates a complaints procedure covering registered contractors.
Liability
We hold £10m public liability insurance, £10m employers liability insurance and £5m professional indemnity insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
