Industrial Inspection & Testing, in plain terms.
What it is
Periodic inspection and testing of commercial and industrial installations, including distribution boards, three phase circuits and machinery supplies.
Who it is for
Landlords of commercial units, facilities managers, and businesses whose insurer or auditor has asked.
When you need it
Typically every three to five years depending on the environment, and whenever an insurer requires it.
Why it matters who does it
Industrial testing needs planning as much as skill. The risk is not the test, it is unplanned downtime.
Start to finish.
Fixed price or day rate, whichever suits the job, agreed with you up front.
- Agree a phasing plan against your production schedule.
- Test by board and by circuit, in agreed windows.
- Sample where full isolation is impossible, and record what was sampled.
- Single consolidated report with priced remedials.
The specifics, for anyone who wants them.
Intervals depend on the environment
A clean office might go five years. A dusty workshop with vibration and moisture is nearer three, and some environments are annual. The interval should come from a risk assessment rather than from habit.
Sampling, honestly declared
Full isolation of everything is often impossible in a working plant. Where we sample rather than test one hundred percent, the report says so explicitly, states the sample size, and does not pretend to be something it is not.
Thermal imaging
A thermal survey of distribution boards under load finds loose terminations and imbalance that a dead test cannot, without any downtime. Worth adding on anything three phase.
Straight answers.
Will you need to shut us down?
In phases, and only in windows you agree in advance.
How often should a commercial EICR be done?
Three to five years for most environments, sooner in harsh ones. We will recommend an interval and explain it.
Can you quote from the report?
Yes, and you are free to take the remedials elsewhere.
